Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has joined the National Female Basketball team in celebrating their huge win at the 2017 FIBA Women AfroBasket tournament in Mali.
Buhari said “I was pleased to receive our female National Basketball Team, D’Tigress, at the State House today. They have done so much to make us proud.
The President approved N1 million for each D’Tigress, who qualified for the 2018 FIBA Women Basketball World Cup in Spain.
“The entire nation appreciates and celebrates your victory — the first in 12 years — and qualification for the 2018 World Cup in Spain,’ as he lifted their trophy to the admiration of his guests.
The President also approved N500,000 each for the team officials.
