Qatar to host emergency Arab-Islamic summit to discuss Israeli attack
Qatar will host an emergency Arab-Islamic summit on September 14-15 to discuss the recent Israeli airstrikes that targeted Hamas leaders in Doha.
The summit aims to coordinate a collective response from Arab and Islamic countries to the attack, which has sparked widespread condemnation and raised tensions between Qatar and Israel.
Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani stated that a collective regional response is being prepared to counter the Israeli attack, stressing that consultations are underway with Arab and Islamic partners. The summit will be preceded by a preparatory meeting of foreign ministers on Sunday.

The Israeli airstrikes, which occurred on Tuesday, targeted senior Hamas leaders in Doha, prompting a strong reaction from Qatar and other countries in the region. Qatar has described the Israeli strike as “international terrorism” and is reassessing its role in future Gaza ceasefire talks.
The summit comes after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged Qatar to expel Hamas officials or hold them to account, warning that Israel would take action if Qatar fails to do so. Qatar has rejected Netanyahu’s remarks, saying they are a “shameful attempt” to justify Israel’s “cowardly attack”.

The emergency summit will likely focus on discussing potential measures to counter the Israeli attack and addressing the ongoing conflict in the region.
