Senate Confirms Bernard Doro as Minister
Senate has confirmed Bernard Doro as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria following a screening session that lasted less than 30 minutes.
During his appearance before the lawmakers, Doro outlined his plans to foster an inclusive and technology-driven humanitarian ecosystem guided by principles of impartiality and independence.
He emphasized the need to strengthen collaboration among security agencies to better identify and support individuals affected by crises, describing this coordination as one of the major challenges in humanitarian response.
After a few questions, senators expressed confidence in his qualifications and capacity to deliver, subsequently asking him to take a bow and leave.

President Bola Tinubu nominated Doro last week to replace Nentawe Yilwatda, the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, who recently resigned to assume his new role as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Born on March 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Doro brings over two decades of professional experience spanning healthcare, law, and leadership. He holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, as well as an MBA specializing in IT-driven business strategy.
An Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner in the United Kingdom’s National Health Service (NHS), Doro has worked across urgent care, general practice, and hospital settings. Beyond his medical career, he has also led youth mentorship and social impact initiatives both in the diaspora and within local communities.
