Senator Barau emerges deputy senate president

Following the election of Senator Godswill Akpabio as the new Senate President of Nigeria, the immediate past Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, Senator Jibrin Barau, APC, Kano North has emerged as the Deputy Senate President.

His emergence followed the nomination of the former Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, and was seconded by Salisu Mustapha.
