South Korean President facing travel ban amid controversy

A South Korean court has imposed a travel ban on President Yoon Suk Yeol, preventing him from leaving the country.

This decision follows a period of political turmoil that began when Yoon declared martial law and deployed the military to the parliament on the night of Tuesday, December 3.

In recent developments, the Ministry of Justice announced on Monday, December 9, that the president is barred from leaving South Korea.

This move comes just days after Yoon narrowly avoided impeachment on Saturday. Despite remaining in office, Yoon is under investigation for alleged insurrection.
