A 46-year-old man, Mohammed Sani, has been arrested and detained by the Kano State Chief Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly defiled a 15-year-old mentally challenged girl. Mr Sani, a resident of Rijiyar Zaki Quarters, Kano, was charged by the police in the state with defilement, contrary to the provisions of Section 283 of the Penal Code. Chief Magistrate, Mustapha Sa’ad-Datti, sitting on Friday, ordered that the defendant be remanded in a correctional facility until August 28, for mention.
