A total of N2.5 billion has been earmarked by the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) for the Ministry of Environment to execute new projects associated with flood prevention and management. The fund will be provided for in the 2023 budget appropriation bill. This is in response to the extreme flooding across 34 states witnessed this year where businesses, farmlands and other properties were destroyed.
