Meet Dr Bukar Shuaib, Nigeria’s first Veterinary doctor

Dr Bukar Shuaibu, CFR was born 1927 in Geidam in the old Borno Province (now Yobe State). He had Islamic Studies, Elementary School and Middle School at home before proceeded to famous Barewa College in 1934-48, Liverpool University and obtained Bachelor Degree in Veterinary Medicine 1949-54 and also a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. He was the first Northerner and Nigeria to acquire this feat. He later attended the Edinburgh University with Diploma in Tropical Veterinary Medicine Between 1957-58.
