Shari’ah court jails businesswoman 9 months for cheating partners

Shari’ah court jails businesswoman 9 months for cheating partners A Shari’ah court in Rigasa, Kaduna, has sentenced businesswoman Maimuna Muhammad to nine months in prison after she pleaded guilty to charges of cheating, breach of trust, and misappropriation of funds. Presiding judge Malam Muhammad Adamu, who delivered the judgment on Thursday, stated that the sentence would run for three months for each offense. He also offered the option of a ₦7,000 fine per count. According to prosecutor Insp. Sambo Maigari, the case was brought by two of Muhammad's business partners. READ ALSO: Court remands...
