Tinubu reshuffles media team, appoints Dare, Bwala

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has restructured his media and communications team to improve government messaging.
The presidency announced that Bayo Onanuga, Sunday Dare, and Daniel Bwala will serve as joint spokespersons, with a focus on ensuring clear and consistent communication of government policies and decisions. The move was confirmed in a statement by Onanuga on Tuesday.
President Tinubu believes a unified approach to media communication will better meet the public’s needs.
Sunday Dare, previously Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation, has been reassigned as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications.
In a similar move, Daniel Bwala, who was recently appointed Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, has now been re-designated as Special Adviser on Policy Communication. Bayo Onanuga retains his position as Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.
A statement from the presidency read, “President Bola Tinubu has re-designated the roles of two newly appointed officials in the State House media and communications team to improve the efficiency of the government’s communication machinery.”
The restructuring is as follows:
– Mr. Sunday Dare, formerly Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation, is now Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications.
– Mr. Daniel Bwala, who was appointed last week as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, is now Special Adviser on Policy Communications.
The statement emphasized that these appointments, alongside the existing role of Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, reflect a collective approach to government communication.
“There will be no single spokesperson for the Presidency. Instead, the three Special Advisers will jointly serve as spokespersons to ensure effective and consistent communication of government policies, decisions, and engagements,” the statement read.
