Police nab man after gun found in wife’s bag
Lagos police have apprehended a man in the Ipaja area after a semi-automatic pistol was found in his wife’s handbag during a routine stop and search.
According to CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the state’s police public relations officer, officers stopped two women and discovered the firearm in one of their bags.

The woman whose bag contained the gun identified her husband as the owner, leading police to arrest him. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
The police see this arrest as a significant step in removing illegal weapons from the streets and reiterated their commitment to public safety, encouraging residents to partner with them to maintain law and order.
