Tolulope Arotile: May Her Soul In Peace Arises Anew, a poem by Ikechukwu Benjamin Ezeohagwu

I

May her soul

in peace arises anew,

Tolulope Arotile, our dear,

upwards as strong breed,

towards the Height,

on a flight,

away from vultures,

who are tortures,

of our cultures.

her audacity,

of successful combat missions

against terrorism and armed banditry attacks,

a thing of treasure,

tribe of Amazon, farewell!

our Nigeria’s first female

helicopter combat Pilot

of the Nigerian Airforce,

Tolulope Arotile,

we cherish such heroism,

though brief, but profound, resounding.

II

May her soul

in joy lives on,

Tolulope Arotile, our dear,

Heavenbound as rare breed,

towards the Height,

on a flight,

away from absurdity,

of heinous depth,

of depravity.

her prowess,

of successful combat missions

against terrorism and armed banditry attacks,

a living testimony,

face of resilience, farewell!

our Nigeria’s first female

helicopter combat pilot

of the Nigerian Airforce,

Tolulope Arotile,

we cherish such loyalty,

though brief, but impactful, illustrious.

III

May her soul

on her journey finds Helpers,

Tolulope Arotile, our dear,

as iconic breed onwards,

towards the Height,

on a flight,

away from demons of the earth,

who maim and slay,

as agents of darkness.

her impact,

as beckon of resolution, dexterity dignity, brilliance, humility,

against evils of the Nigeria insurgency and banditry,

a thing of legacy,

aura of nobility, farewell!

our Nigeria’s first female

helicopter combat pilot

of the Nigerian Airforce,

Tolulope Arotile,

we cherish such nationalism,

though brief, but intimidating, outstanding.

IV

May her soul

in the beyond receives Helps,

Tolulope Arotile, our dear,

as goldmine breed Homebound,

towards the Height,

on a flight,

away from being earthbound,

away from sorrows of the earth,

fly towards eternal joy.

her disposition,

as emerging pilot, spring of ingenuity, luminous star of courage,

against abductions, killings and rapes in Nigeria,

by terrorists and bandits,

an elegant combatant genius,

Pilot of flight, farewell!

our Nigeria’s first female

helicopter combat pilot

of the Nigerian Airforce,

Tolulope Arotile,

we cherish such profile

though brief, but indomitable, convincing.

V

May her soul

on her path hereafter takes flight Heavenly,

Tolulope Arotile, our dear,

as inspiring breed upwards,

towards the Height,

on a flight,

away from being earthbound,

away from the storms of the earth,

fly towards eternal self-consciousness.

her life,

as enduring story, full of strength, diligence, commitment,

productivity, upliftment and fulfillment,

against Nigeria insecurity challenges of inhumanity,

a symbolic eagle,

strength of combat, farewell!

our Nigeria’s first female

helicopter combat pilot

of the Nigerian Airforce,

Tolulope Arotile,

We cherish such conquest,

though brief, but classic, historic.
