UK summons Russian diplomats, holds Kremlin fully responsible for Navalny’s death

Following the announcement of the death of prominent Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny in an Arctic prison, the UK government has taken a decisive step, summoning Russian embassy diplomats “to make clear that we hold the Russian authorities fully responsible.”

The Foreign Office, in a statement, highlighted the series of actions taken against Navalny, including imprisonment on fabricated charges, poisoning with a banned nerve agent, and confinement in an Arctic penal colony.

A spokesperson emphasized the brutal nature of the Russian system and the dedication of Navalny to exposing corruption and advocating for free and open politics.

Foreign Minister David Cameron, reflecting on Navalny’s bravery and the true nature of Putin’s regime, warned of “consequences” over the critic’s death. He called for action, stating that measures against individuals responsible for human rights outrages would be explored.

Supporters worldwide paid tribute to Navalny, with gatherings in Europe and the United States. In London, protesters gathered at the Russian embassy, displaying signs with messages such as “Stop Putin,” “Assassins,” and “We are Navalny.”

The death of Alexei Navalny has sparked a global outcry, prompting calls for accountability and consequences for those responsible.
