UNICEF and SUBEB install emergency response plan for schools in Yobe and Borno

The United Nations Children Education Fund in Collaboration with State Universal Basic Education Board has organised Emergency Response Preparedness Plans for selected Local governments in Borno state.
Supported by the European Commission For Humanitarian Organization, Emergency response preparedness plan was assigned to selected states in the Lake Chad region.
The project which focuses on the aggressive security maintenance in schools in the Lake Chad region considers Borno and Yobe States as pilot State.
According to Education Expert Of UNICEF Ismail Yusuf, the programme managers realised that Boko Haram exacerbated the already fragile education in the North East, hence their intervention. Mr Yusuf
Mr Yusuf said that Unicef will continue to provide sound and quality education to people of Borno.
Earlier in his address, the director schools, Alhaji Ali Dogo commended the organization for initiating the laudable protect, stressing that Borno Governor, Kashim Shettima was committed to providing sound education in the state.
95 education stakeholders Comprising education secretaries, Principals from Mafa, Magumeri, Gubio, MMC, Jere, and Konduga Local Governments participated in the workshop.
Some of the participants pledged to make use of the knowledge to transform educational policy in the State.
