Vocational training centre in Katsina to celebrate International Youths Day August 12

A renowned Katsina vocational training centre established by late MD Yusufu, former Inspector General of Police from 1975-1979, is to celebrate International Youths Day on Thursday, 12th August 2021.

This was announced Tuesday by the coordinator of the centre, Muhammad Danjuma Katsina.

During the occasion, the centre which was established in 2001 to train youths on various jobs and skills acquisition will graduate another set of trainees on various skills.

The graduation ceremony will be for trainees that graduated from the year 2019 to 2021.

As usual, some of the graduates that distinguished themselves from the centre will be provided with start-up capitals while highlights of the ceremony will be lecture presentations by eminent personalities.

This year’s ceremony will be the 20th since the establishment of the vocational training centre 20 years ago.

In the past, eminent personalities have been attending the graduation ceremony of the vocational training centre and lectures delivered have served as a roadmap for agenda-setting in the fight against youths’ restiveness.

Those who attended such graduation ceremonies in the past include the former president of Nigeria, late Alhaji Umar Musa Yar’adua, former CBN Governor, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, former president of Court of Appeal, Justice Umar Abdullahi (Walin Hausa), former Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Hajiya Farida Waziri, former VC Alqalam university, Professor Danjuma Maiwada Wazirin Katsina; Alhaji Sani Abubakar Lugga and former Vice-Chancellor of Umar Yar’adua University, Professor Idris Isah Funtuwa among others.

The graduation ceremony with the theme “The role of youths in security and political stability in Nigeria” will take place at the conference hall of Katsina State’s secretariat complex at 10 AM.

Prominent personalities expected at the graduation ceremony include the incumbent Vice-Chancellor of Umar Musa Yar’adua University, Professor Sanusi Mamman, a prominent politician, Dr Rabe Darma, Dr Babangida Albaba, Dr Ahmad Adamu, Dr Abu Sabe,  and Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Malam Ibrahim Ahmad Katsina among others.

Representatives from 57 Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Community Based Organisations (CBOs) will also be in attendance.

The chairman of the occasion will be Ajiyan Katsina, Alhaji Lamis Dikko, an entrepreneur and a politician par excellence, the guest of honour will be Walin Hausa, Justice Umar Abdullahi CFR.

The special guest of honour will be the Katsina State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari CFR, the Dallatun Katsina and Mutawallen Hausa.

The chief host and convener of the ceremony is the Katsina State Chief Judge, Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar who is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Katsina vocational training centre while the royal fathers are Emirs of Katsina and Daura.
