VP-elect, Shettima, meets former heads of state, seeks their advice for next administration

The Vice President-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima, says stakeholders are a beacon of hope for the nation, and the next administration will continue to tap into their wealth of experience.

This was contained in a press statement signed by Mary Noel-Berje, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Niger State.

The Vice President-elect made this statement during a courtesy visit to the residences of two former Nigerian Heads of State, Generals Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar, led by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello.

Speaking to journalists, the Vice President-elect said that the elder statesmen, as stakeholders, have a lot to offer to humanity and the nation, especially on issues affecting the nation.

“Stakeholders are a beacon of hope, and we will continue to tap into their wealth of experience. They have a lot to offer the nation and humanity. We will continue to reach out to them for their advice, inputs, and perspectives on issues confronting us as a nation,” he said.

Regarding what Niger State should expect from the next administration at the federal level, Senator Shettima assured Nigerlites of a new lease of life. “There is no cause for alarm, as the challenges of the state will be adequately addressed”, he said.

He commended the present administration in the state under the leadership of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello for ensuring relative peace, which he described as an essential ingredient for development.

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello also led the Vice President-elect and his entourage to pay homage to the Emir of Minna, Dr Umar Farouq Bahago, where prayers were offered for the peace of the remaining electioneering process and success of the Tinubu/Shettima ticket.

The Emir, Dr Umar appreciated the Vice President-elect and his entourage for the visit.
