Why I should be in Guinness World Records – President Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu says his past exploits paved the way for his emergence as president and that he deserves to be listed in the Guinness World Records (GWR).

Speaking at the 10th German-Nigerian Business Forum, Tinubu credited his success to overcoming investment obstacles in Nigeria. He expressed the need to acknowledge remarkable achievements and humorously stated his determination to actively seek inclusion in the prestigious Guinness World Records.

“I came from the private sector and overcame various hurdles. I was trained by Deloitte, worked for ExxonMobil, and eventually became the corporation’s treasurer. So, when it comes to corporate governance, count me in,” Tinubu emphasized.

Highlighting his tenure as the former governor of Lagos, he pointed out the significant transformation the state underwent, attaining the status of the fifth-largest economy in Africa during his leadership.

“In my eight years as governor, I can proudly say that I transformed Lagos from ground zero to becoming the fifth-largest economy in Africa,” Tinubu emphasized. “This remarkable track record is what led to my presidency.”

While underscoring his commitment to reforms, Tinubu lightheartedly mentioned that if his achievements were not duly recognized, he would strive to secure a place in the Guinness Book of Records for his contributions as Nigeria’s president.

“Nigeria elected me for reforms, and from the onset of my presidency, I initiated these reforms. If my name isn’t mentioned in the Guinness Book of Records, I’ll find a way to secure my place because I achieved this without expectation,” he remarked.
