Why the elephant is transported with tiny chicks inside cage
When an elephant needs to be transported by plane from one country to another, for example, from India to the United States, they place tiny chicks inside its cage.
The reason is that, despite its imposing maw, the elephant is extremely afraid of hurting others.
During the entire flight, the elephant remains perfectly still, to avoid crushing a single one of the chicks.
This method is used to maintain the balance of the plane, it’s also an interesting proof of the elephant’s noble nature.
Fascinated by this behaviour, some scientists went further to study the elephant’s brain.
They discovered the presence of fusiform cells, extremely rare neurons, also found in humans. These cells are connected to self-awareness, empathy and social perception.
In other words, the elephant isn’t just big physically; it’s also big emotionally. It feels, understands and acts with silent wisdom.
Leonardo da Vinci, deeply fascinated by nature, wrote that the elephant embodies uprightness, reason, and temperance.

The elephant enters a river and bathes with a kind of solemnity, as if he wanted to cleanse himself of all evil.
They only mate at night, far from the pack before returning to their peers.
And if you meet a herd on the path, move it gently so as not to hurt anyone.
When the elephant feels the end is near, it moves away from the herd and goes to die alone, in a remote place.
This is to save the young ones the pain of seeing him die.
