Detectives from the Kano Police Command has uncovered decomposing corpse of a woman believed to been locked up in a solitary room by husband for three days.

The latest incident of unlawful incarceration occurred at Mariri Quarters, outskirt of Kano Metropolis.

Security operatives uncovered the corpse following a tip-off by neighbours who perceived offensive odours from the decomposing body.

The police had since evacuated the corpse to an unnamed health facility in the city for postmortem.

DSP Abdullahi Haruna, Spokesman of the Kano Police Command, while confirming the incident to reporters in Kano disclosed that investigation has been launched into the matter.
