Story from Kasim Isa MUHAMMAD, Damaturu

The Yobe State House of Assembly has initiated public hearings regarding two bills, one to establish the Yobe HISBA Commission and related matters, and the other for the Information Technology Development Agency.

He noted that both bills had already gone through the first and second readings and had been referred to the appropriate house committees for thorough legislative examination.

Neptune Prime reported that Buba invited stakeholders from the religious and information sectors to submit their opinions and suggestions, aiming to shape these laws by international best practices and the interests of the people.

Buba also praised the government’s initiative in proposing these bills, expressing hope that the Hisbah Commission would help eradicate immoral acts and social vices in the state, while the Information Technology Development Agency would create job opportunities for the youth.

On his part, Yakubu Suleiman, the Chairman of the House Committee on Justice, Judiciary, and Religious Affairs, encouraged active participation from all attendees to ensure a positive impact on the content of the bills.

He, however, assured everyone that the committees and the entire house would carefully consider all the inputs gathered during the hearing, to incorporate them into the bills.
