Yobe gov’t vows professionalism in ongoing Army recruitment

The Yobe State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that the most suitable candidates are selected in the ongoing Nigerian Army Recruitment Exercise to fill the vacancy of the state.

The Special Adviser to Yobe State Governor on Security Matters, Brig. Gen. Dahiru Abdus-Salam (Rtd) made this known on Monday 16th December, 2024 when he inspected the ongoing screening exercise of the 88 Regular Recruit intake of the Nigerian Army at 241 Recce Model Battalion Nguru.

Brig. Gen. Dahiru Abdus-Salam (Rtd), who warned the candidates against bribing anybody to get recruited into the Army, noted that the Military Organization is a reputable government organisation which needs no compromise in its recruitment.

Also speaking, the Director of Recruitment Services, Governor’s Office Damaturu Adamu Baba Umar commended the members of the Recruitment Committee for a job well done.

He used the medium to thank the state government for supporting the recruitment unit towards the success of its activities.

Earlier in her remarks, the Yobe State Coordinator, Federal Character Commission, Hajiya Ruqayyatu Ahmed, appreciated the transparency in the screening exercise, pointing out that it is in tandem with the policy of the commission.

During the inspection visit, the Special Adviser, who is also the leader of the delegation inspected a guard mounted in his honour.

He also interacted with the Commanding Officer of 241 Recce Model Battalion Nguru, Col. Adamu Umar on issues related to the operations of the Unit.
