Yobe Ministry of Education issues licenses to registered private schools

Story by Ibraheem El-Tafseer

The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Potiskum Chapter, organised a seminar in Potiskum, Yobe State, to distribute licenses to registered private schools.

Malam Muhammad Sambo Adam, Chairman of NAPPS, Potiskum Chapter, recalled that the Yobe State Ministry of Education had cancelled licenses for all private schools in the state last year.

However, after meetings with the ministry, the commissioner approved and distributed forms to the schools.

Adam explained that schools must fill out the forms, submit them to the ministry, and undergo verification and inspection to meet the required standards. If approved, the schools will receive their licenses.

Adam advised schools that had not submitted their forms to do so quickly to obtain their licenses.

Neptune Prime gathered that Potiskum Local Government has over 150 private schools, with only 29 receiving licenses so far.

The event, held at Mori Memorial School, was attended by many school proprietors and directors.
