Yobe’s revived Woven Sacks Company commence full production (Pictures)

The Yobe Polythene Bag and Woven Sacks Company Limited resuscitated by the Governor Mai Mala Buni’s government has started production in commercial quantity.

Barma Shettima, the Yobe State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Tourism disclosed this on Thursday at an inspection visit to the company in Damaturu.

The Commissioner expressed satisfaction to the level of operational performance of the resuscitated company.

“I am very much satisfied with the work being carried out on the factory as the company has the capacity to produce 10,000 bags of woven sacks daily.

“Remember the company is just picking up and there is a high tendency for improvement in the production. In the near future, the company can produce up to 20,000 pieces,” he said.

Shattima commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for his relentless effort to revive dormant industries in the state.

“The gesture is a promise made and promise fulfilled by the Governor. If you could remember, in his maiden address during his inauguration into office Governor Buni promised to restore all dormant industries owned by the state.

“This intervention is not only limited to these factories alone but also to other factories such as Flour Mills Company, Yobe Sahel Aluminium Company and so on.

“The Governor also recently approved the release of fund for the resuscitation of a Pole Production Company in Damaturu”, Shattima added.

The Commissioner also expressed optimism that the company would meet customers’ demands in the state and beyond.

“I have every confidence that our products will meet the demand of Yobe people and the entire northeast region”.

The General Manager of the company, Engr. Shu’aibu Gadaka noted that the company had adequate manpower and sufficient raw materials to operate smoothly.

He added that the management of the company had established all the necessary business relationship for patronage and marketing the product to improve Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state.
