Youths vandalise police station in Yola after officer shot dead old woman
Angry youths have attacked a police station in Yola, Adamawa State after a trigger-happy officer killed an octogenarian identified as Maryam Abdullahi.
It was gathered said the incident happened at Doubeli in the Jimeta area of Yola around on February 16, 2023.
According to reports, the policemen who were on a routine patrol in the area, reportedly arrested a young man who was found sitting in front of his compound.

They wanted to whisk him away but the locals resisted and demanded an explanation, consequent upon which a police fired shots that hit and killed the 70-year-old grandmother.
Apart from the grandmother, a young man in the same area also sustained an injury during the sporadic gunfire.
The remains of the woman have been deposited at the Specialist Hospital in Yola.
The incident made some disturbed youths demolish the Doubeli police station.
