YSCHMA receives 2023 Health Excellence Award, reappoints Dr. Babagana Tijjani

Yobe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (YSCHMA) and its dedicated Executive Secretary, Dr. Babagana Tijjani, were lauded on Monday, November 20, 2023, for clinching the prestigious 2023 Universal Health Coverage National Award of Excellence from Development Governance International (DGI Consult).
The award ceremony took place during the inaugural Health System Emerging Solution Forum meeting at Sheraton Hotel in Abuja.
Chief (Mrs) Moji Makanjuola, a distinguished veteran journalist, and a representative of the Senate Committee on Health jointly presented the accolade to Dr. Tijjani on behalf of YSCHMA.

The agency’s Information and Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Gambo Yusuf Bakoro, conveyed that this recognition underscores YSCHMA’s commitment to advancing healthcare services in Nigeria.
Expressing his gratitude, Dr. Babagana Tijjani dedicated the award to the entire agency, emphasizing the collaborative efforts of the staff in propelling YSCHMA’s success. Dr. Tijjani highlighted the cohesive teamwork within the agency, stating, “No department or unit within the agency is working in isolation, and this is one of the main reasons why we are succeeding and progressing as one family.”
Furthermore, the YSCHMA family extended their congratulations to Dr. Babagana Tijjani for his reappointment as the Executive Secretary for a second term by His Excellency, Governor Mai Mala Buni.
