The first layer
The US has tried to back Iran into a corner to sign a deal that strips it of its right to uranium enrichment and other conditions, which reduces its role in the region and strips it of its nuclear energy.
When that failed, the US unleashed its dog in the region, the Zionist entity, to carry out the dirty work of applying military pressure on Iran to sign the deal after the bullying failed. In their calculations, if the political + military pressure does not ensue, then the US might opt in towards direct military intervention under the guise of preventing Iran from attaining a nuclear weapon, just as they invaded Iraq under the false pretext of weapons of mass destruction.

Second Layer
The US and Israel will seek a total obliteration of the Iranian military capabilities to render it incapable of posing any challenge to the Zionist evil. To them, this guarantees the hegemony of Israel, indirectly, American control of resources in the region and the Strait of Hormuz.
Third Layer
If all the above seem untenable, the ultimate design will come into play—Regime Change. The words from Trump that we are pursuing a “real end” are ominous. The US and Israel will pursue a regime change in Iran to install a government that may be amenable to taking instructions and doing the bidding of the US. This model has already failed woefully in Iraq, Libya, and Sudan, but that does not matter to the harbingers of disaster. Lessons learnt have no place in their analysis as far as their operational goals are achieved.
Every discerning mind knows that “stopping Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons” noise is a gimmick! So, the ultimate question is, what is the American-Israeli desired end state beyond incapacitation, destruction, desolation, or regime disruption? Would the state of Israel be more secure in the environment? Would the US, whose strength depends on alliances, achieve the goal of harnessing more friends, allies, and partners in the region and the world?
