Abuja High Court grants N50 million bail to Abba Kyari

The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to the Suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abba Kyari, who is facing charges alongside his two brothers for allegedly failing to declare assets to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The NDLEA presented a 24-count charge against Abba Kyari, Mohammed Baba Kyari, and Ali Kyari. Today, Thursday, Justice James Omotosho ruled on the matter and granted Abba Kyari bail on the condition of a N50 million bond.

The bail requires two sureties who possess property valued at N25 million within the jurisdiction of the court, amongst other conditions.
However, the judge emphasized that even if Kyari fulfills the bail conditions, his release warrant is still contingent on the outcome of a related case involving him and four others, where they are being accused of illicit drug dealings.
Previously, Justice Omotosho had granted bail to Abba Kyari’s siblings. This latest bail ruling brings a development in the ongoing legal proceedings surrounding the case.
