Council chairman confirms Bade explosion in Yobe

Chairman of Bade Local Government Area in Yobe State, Sanda Kara-Bade, has confirmed that a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was detonated around Abasha area of Gashua town killing one person and injuring several others.
It could be recalled that a heavy sound was heard on Sunday in Gashua at a popular drinking-joint which threw residents into pandemonium.

Arising from an emergency security meeting which was called by the council boss to appraise the incident, the chairman revealed that the device may have been planted by terrorists.
It was gathered that personnel of the Police anti-bomb squad have since arrived the scene on Monday to remove the debris.
According to the council chairman, government would shoulder the hospital expenses of the injured victims currently receiving treatments in various hospitals of the state.
