The FCT Police Command has assured residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of a peaceful and secure environment ahead of Saturday’s Area Council elections.
In a statement issued in Abuja, the Command confirmed that comprehensive security measures have been put in place to guarantee the safety of voters, electoral officials, and election materials across all polling units and collation centres within the territory.
Commissioner of Police, Miller Dantawaye, stated that adequate deployment of personnel has been carried out, with officers directed to maintain professionalism, neutrality, and respect for citizens’ rights throughout the electoral process.
The police also disclosed that operations are being conducted in collaboration with other security agencies, including the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Air Force, Department of State Services, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
