Bauchi investigative panel clears 4,654 workers

The investigative panel set up by the Bauchi State Government to verify workers without Bank Verification Numbers (BVN) said it has so far cleared 4,654 civil servants in the state.

The state government said it had identified over 41,448 persons on the government payroll without BVN.

The Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, subsequently set up a 17-member panel to unravel the circumstances surrounding the situation. The chairman of the committee, Senator Adamu Gumba, said the committee had recommended to the state government to pay the cleared persons their outstanding October salaries.
