Arrested Vigilantes confess to killing 90-year-old man, stealing his N430,000
Police operatives in Sokoto state have successfully apprehended six criminals who are suspected to be members of the outlawed volunteer vigilante group known as Yan Sakai in state.
According to TVC News, the suspects were arrested for killing and setting the corpse of 90-year-old man.
The incident reportedly happened at Zangon Atti village in Gwadabawa local government area of the state.
The suspects are said to have accosted the deceased Muhammad Riskuwa with his son Shehu Mamman after engaging them in a conversation and one of the suspects shot and killed the deceased.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state command, Sanusi Abubakar, disclosed that the suspects confessed to the crime. He stated that the suspects also confessed that they ransacked the house of the victim and made away with the sum of N430,000.00 after setting his corpse ablaze.
Sanusi Abubakar said the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
