Cashless policy will create over 3 million jobs, boost POS agents’ gains – Expert

By Abubakar Abba

The Chairman and CEO of a famous Northern-based cashless consulting firm, Bizi Mobile Cashless Consultant Ltd., Dr Aminu Bizi, has dismissed insinuations that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)’s cashless policy may cripple over one million POS businesses in Nigeria.

Dr Aminu who is also a traditional title holder stressed that it is not fair for some to categorically said that.

Dr Bizi, the cashless guru, in a telephone interview while in Abuja said people should not use the media to deceive others, stressing that some people are ignorant of the apex body’s cashless policy.

“I think people need to be enlightened about the CBN’s cashless policy.

“I want to emphasise that CBN’s cashless policy has brought over 3 million jobs to the teeming Nigerians, we have the facts,” he said.

While commenting on those saying that the emergence of the e-Naira policy introduced by the CBN would send many POS agents out of business, Dr Aminu argued that it is not true, explaining that the e-Naira policy would even double the gains of POS agents.

However, he admitted that POS agents would not see cash for them to continue doing business.

He urged all the POS agents in the country to convert to the e-Naira policy so as to make their business easier, adding that it is the same line of business that includes the other one being a POS agent, and another an agent of e-banking, e-Naira.

He said the POS agent may not see cash for him to continue doing his business, but if he was able to understand the e-Naira policy, he will see that his gains would double what he is gaining through the POS system.

He noted that very soon, all business transactions in Nigeria would be done through the e-Naira policy, as it is an easy way of transacting businesses and has no hitches.

Dr Aminu also disclosed that the e-Naira policy would lead to the creation of many jobs in the country as it will employ more agents that may outnumber POS operators in the country.
