Ligue 1 giants, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), were perhaps disappointed after the the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) rejected the transfer of Moroccan international, Hakim Ziyech, from Chelsea on the January transfer deadline day, Tuesday night.

Ziyech’s move to PSG was called off because his contract was not validated, according to journalist, Fabrizio Romano.

It was gathered that there was delay from the side of Chelsea after the club sent incorrect documents three times.

The deal is said to have collapse after the LFP turned down an appeal from PSG and as it stands the French side do not have much hope in signing the Moroccan.

Ziyech was instrumental for Morocco at the just concluded FIFA World Cup in Qatar helping his country to advance to the quarter finals – the first African country in the history of the tournament by beating Portugal 1-0 as well as advancing to the third place where they lost to Croatia 1-2.

The 29-year-old attacking midfielder who was brought in to Chelsea from Ajax in 2020 may have to wait till summer for another chance to PSG.
