Gov. Buni condoles families, orders free treatment to victims of Damaturu car crash

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has condoled the families of the victims of a car crash in Damaturu and ordered free treatment to all the injured persons.

This was contained in a statement signed by Mamman Mohammed Director of General Press and Media Affairs to Yobe State Governor.

Governor Buni said he was heartbroken and devastated by the sad news of the car crash in Damaturu which claimed some lives, with others injured.

The Governor directed a full investigation of the accident to establish the remote cause of the unfortunate incident.

“It is very sad, troubling and unfortunate that this accident happened inside a populated area claiming the lives of people and many others got injured.

“Something must be fundamentally wrong with the driver or the vehicle or both, which must be established to guard against future occurrence,” he said.

The Governor urged motorists to be careful, avoid speeding, overloading and ensure road worthiness of their vehicles before plying the roads.

He cautioned parents against giving under-aged children vehicles, warning that, the full wrath of the law will be used on any careless driver who is found wanting.

Buni prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the souls of the deceased persons and grant those injured with a speedy recovery.
