Gov. Buni commissions emergency ambulance service, health monitoring agency (Photos)

As part of the effort to support the provision of emergency medical treatment to all residents of the state, Governor Mai Mala Buni on Saturday commissioned the Yobe Emergency Medical Ambulance Services (YEMABUS) and Yobe Healthcare Facilities Inspections and Monitoring Agency (YOHFIMA) in the state.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Governor Mai Mala Buni said the establishment of the two new agencies is in conformity with the national health act of 2014.

Buni stated that the state emergency medical ambulance service agency would support the provision of emergency medical treatment to all residents of the state.

He said that the policy intends to address the missing link in the health sector as reiterated by the World Health Organisation (WHO) which states the importance of hospital and emergency care systems for all members of the country that would address the emergency need of the population.

“The health care standard and quality regulations agency would provide the legal framework for the continued inspection, monitoring and regulations of both private and public health-related facilities in Yobe State.

“This would ensure the provision of safe standard and high-quality health care and health-related services to citizens of the state”, said Governor Buni.

He further revealed noted that the launching of the two agencies marks the commencement of their full operations and implementation of their various statutory mandate in the state for the benefit of citizens.

He commended the Federal Ministry of Health and all developmental partners who supported and partnered with the Yobe State Government to actualise the establishment of the two important agencies and for other laudable interventions in the state.
