Six Burundi teens missing at international robotics competition in Washignton

A group of teens from Burundi who were in Washington, D.C. for an international robotics competition have been reported missing, D.C. Police said.
The missing teens are members of the Burundi robotics team and were taking part in the FIRST Global Challenge robotics competition being held in the District earlier this week.
The six teens, 18-year-old Richard Irakoze, 17-year-old Kevin Sabumukiza, 17-year-old Nice Munezero, 17-year-old Audrey Mwamikazi, 16-year-old Don Ingabire, and 18-year-old Aristide Irambona were reported missing after last being seen at 5 p.m. on Tuesday July 18 – about the same time the robotics matching were finishing at Constitution Hall.
The D.C. Police Department posted photos of all six teens on their Twitter page. In their reports, D.C. Police say the teens all have one-year visas.
In a statement given to FOX 5, the competition’s host said, “Security of the students is of paramount importance to FIRST Global.
“FIRST Global ensures that all students get to their dormitories after the daily competition by providing safe transportation to the students staying at Trinity Washington University who are always to be under close supervision of their adult mentor and are advised not to leave the premises unaccompanied by the mentor.”
It added: “Anyone with information is asked to call police at 202-576-6768 or 202-727-9099.”
