Police arrest DSS officer for shooting Abuja tailor during confrontation

An officer of the Department of State Services (DSS) has been apprehended by the police after an incident in Garki Market, Abuja, where a tailor was shot during a confrontation.

The officer allegedly fired a shot while attempting to resolve a dispute between a disgruntled customer and the tailor who had failed to complete a contracted job.

The situation quickly escalated, leading to chaos in the market as onlookers panicked.

Another woman was also injured by the stray bullet. The prompt intervention of the police resulted in the arrest of the DSS officer responsible for the shooting.

In the aftermath of the incident, enraged traders attempted to take matters into their own hands, demanding the release of the detained officer. This prompted them to storm a nearby police post and cause further damage.

The DSS has responded by launching an investigation into the incident, assuring the public that disciplinary actions will be taken if the officer is found to be at fault or to have violated standard operating procedures.
