Driver dies after crashing car into White House gate
A driver tragically lost his life after crashing a car into the exterior gate of the White House late Saturday, as confirmed by the US Secret Service.
The incident occurred shortly before 10:30 pm, with the vehicle traveling at a high speed colliding with an outer perimeter gate on the White House complex. Despite the collision, the Secret Service assured there was “no threat” to the White House itself.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers attempted to render aid to the driver, who was discovered deceased. The Secret Service, along with the police and fire departments of the District of Columbia, have initiated an investigation into the fatal crash.

Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesperson for the Secret Service, reiterated that there were “no threat or public safety implications” associated with the incident. This marks another incident involving a vehicle crashing into the exterior gate of the White House, following a similar occurrence in January.
The White House has witnessed several high-profile trespassing incidents in recent years, prompting enhanced security measures, including the construction of a higher and tougher metal fence around the iconic mansion’s perimeter in 2020.
