Troops kill Boko Haram commander, 2 others in Sambisa Forest
Troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully killed three members of the Boko Haram group, including notorious commander Abu Rajab, during a strategic raid in the Sambisa Forest, Borno State.
The military operation, conducted in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), specifically targeted a terrorist camp located in the Bula Daloje area of Bama Local Government.
Sources within the military confirmed that the operation involved intense gunfire, resulting in the deaths of the three militants and forcing the remaining terrorists to flee.

On August 17, the troops initiated an offensive operatiom aimed at dismantling terrorist strongholds in Bula Daloye, successfully neutralising Abu Rajab, a wanted Boko Haram leader.
As part of the operation, troops recovered two AK-47 rifles along with mobile phones, further debilitating the group’s resources.
Additionally, eight terrorists along with their families surrendered to the troops in the Gwoza Local Government Area, indicating a potential shift in the terror group’s dynamics.
The same forces apprehended two suspects in the Konduga Local Government Area who were found in possession of 52 bags of illicit drugs, allegedly intended for supply to the terrorists.
