Petrol price drops to ₦965 per litre in Abuja amidst mixed reactions
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has officially reduced the retail price of premium motor spirit, commonly known as petrol, to ₦965 per litre in the Federal Capital Territory.
This change was confirmed on Monday and has generated a wave of excitement among motorists.

Many drivers have expressed their satisfaction with the price reduction, eagerly lining up at NNPC retail outlets to take advantage of the lower rates.
“Yes, NNPC has reduced its price to N965. I bought it this morning, but the queue is too long. Maybe because other stations are selling at a different price,” shared one driver who was able to fill up.
Despite the price cut from NNPC, independent and major marketers continue to sell petrol at higher prices, with rates ranging from N1,030 to N1,070 per litre across various locations in Abuja.
In a related update, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria has announced plans to offer petrol at ₦935 per litre, starting Monday, following a new agreement with the Dangote Petroleum Refinery.
