Police declare singer Portable wanted

The Ogun State Police Command has issued a wanted notice for controversial singer Habeeb Olalomi, also known as Portable, following his involvement in a violent attack on government officials.

The declaration, shared by the police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, was made in a police gazette on Monday. According to the statement, the incident occurred on February 5, 2025, around 10:00 a.m., when three officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development’s Ota Zonal Office were conducting an enforcement exercise in Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota. During the exercise, the officials met an elderly man, later identified as Portable’s father, at a property linked to the singer.

The officials introduced themselves and asked for the building’s approved plan. In response, Portable’s father stated that his son was not present. However, shortly after, Portable arrived at the scene, armed with a firearm and other dangerous weapons, leading a group of nine thugs. They violently attacked the unarmed officials, who sustained injuries but managed to escape and report the incident to the Ota Area Command. The case was then escalated to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further action.

While nine accomplices were arrested, Portable fled the scene and has been in hiding. Despite multiple formal invitations to appear at the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, Portable ignored them without providing any legal representation.

As a result, the Ogun State Police Command obtained a valid court order declaring him wanted. Authorities are urging the public to assist by providing any information that could lead to his arrest. Anyone caught helping or harboring the suspect will face legal consequences. Individuals with relevant information are encouraged to report to the nearest police station or contact the Ogun State Police Command or its Public Relations Department.
