Nasarawa residence protest against increase in electricity tariff by AEDC

Electricity consumers in Nasarawa State have kicked against the proposed increase in electricity tariff by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company across the 13 Local Government Areas of the state.

The consumers made their position known during a customers’ engagement on the review of tariffs in Lafia, the state capital.

According to report gathered by newsmen, one of the consumers, Mr Sunday Emmah, said he was not in support of the proposed increase in electricity tariff due to a lack of steady supply of power in his area.

Addressing a cross-section of consumers in the state, the Managing Director, Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, Mr Ernest Mupwaya, said the firm would spend over N43bn on new projects in its area of coverage.
