Yobe Youth Parliament Chairman visits Neptune Prime, seeks guidance to empower Nigerian youth

The Chairman of the Yobe State Caucus, Nigerian Youth Parliament at the National Assembly, Hon. Yakubu Muhammad Buba, on Monday, July 28, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to Neptune Prime headquarters in Abuja.

The visit, according to Hon. Yakubu, was aimed at seeking mentorship and strategic advice from Dr. Hassan Gimba, anipr, Publisher and CEO of Neptune Prime, to strengthen youth engagement in policy and nation-building.

“I visited Neptune Prime years ago as Speaker of the Students’ Representative Assembly at ABU Zaria. The advice we received then contributed significantly to our success,” Hon. Yakubu recalled.

He highlighted that the Nigerian Youth Parliament, established by late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua in line with the Commonwealth framework, mirrors the Nigerian Senate and was created to integrate youth into national policy and decision-making processes.

“Our caucus recently held a two-day sitting at the National Assembly, where we sponsored several youth-focused bills. Before our tenure ends, we plan to host a youth-stakeholder town hall meeting to expose young people to real-world leadership experiences and help shape their perspectives,” he said.

Hon. Yakubu further unveiled plans to organise a skills acquisition and entrepreneurship summit aimed at transforming Nigerian youth from job seekers into job creators.

In his remarks, Dr. Hassan Gimba praised the initiative and reaffirmed Neptune Prime’s support for youth-driven development.

The visit was marked by mutual commitment to fostering youth leadership, development, and nation-building.
