Vigilante gun misfire injures 3 family members in Katsina

Three members of the same family were injured on Monday afternoon in Kusada Local Government Area of Katsina State when a vigilante member’s rifle was accidentally discharged.

The incident took place at Gidan Mutum Daya. The suspect, Tukur Mustapha, a 35-year-old member of the Community Watch Corps, allegedly misfired his weapon.

The victims, Murja Lawal (28), her two-year-old daughter Anisa, and Abba Lawal (26), all suffered gunshot wounds to their legs. They were immediately taken to Katsina Teaching Hospital for treatment.

Following the incident, the suspect fled the scene, and security operatives are now working to locate and apprehend him.
