Kogi Ambush: Hunter injured as troops launch rescue mission for abducted seminarians
Nigerian Army troops have launched a joint rescue operation to free two seminarians abducted from Ivianakpodi Minor Seminary in Agenebode, Edo State.
The mission, supported by local vigilantes and hunters, is focused on the Alarke village axis of Kogi State, where the victims are believed to be held.
During the operation, which began around 5:15 a.m. on Sunday, the rescue team was ambushed by the kidnappers.
A hunter, 30-year-old Mohammed Abubakar, was shot in the right thigh and has been taken to Cross Nations Consultant Hospital in Lokoja for treatment.

The troops reported that efforts are ongoing to rescue the seminarians unharmed and to capture the kidnappers. They praised the support of the vigilantes and hunters, expressing confidence that the victims will be freed soon.
