Kogi Police Chief urges residents to support security agencies for peaceful holidays
The Kogi State Police Command has called on residents to cooperate with security agencies to ensure a safe and peaceful holiday season across the state.
The appeal was made by the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Bethrand Onuoha, through the Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Aya, in a statement issued on Sunday.

According to SP Aya, effective security depends largely on timely and credible information from members of the public. He urged residents to report suspicious movements, gatherings, or individuals to the nearest police station or other security agencies.
CP Onuoha also advised citizens to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary night movements, and comply with lawful security checks during the festive period. Motorists were cautioned to obey traffic rules to prevent road accidents.
The police command disclosed that officers have been deployed to strategic locations, including worship centres, motor parks, markets, and recreational areas, to safeguard lives and property throughout the holidays.

The commissioner reassured residents of the command’s commitment to maintaining law and order, stressing that collective responsibility is key to achieving a crime-free festive season in Kogi State.
