South African Police arrest woman over killing of Nigerian e-hailing driver

The South African Police Service has arrested a woman in connection with the killing of a Nigerian e-hailing driver in Pretoria, an incident that has sparked outrage on social media.

The victim, identified as Isaac Satlat, a 22-year-old Nigerian national, was reportedly attacked on February 11 in the Pretoria West area after picking up passengers through an e-hailing platform. Authorities said the suspect was apprehended following investigations into the incident.

Reports indicate that the victim’s vehicle was later recovered in Atteridgeville with his body inside. A disturbing video circulating online allegedly shows the attack, prompting law enforcement authorities to urge members of the public to refrain from sharing the footage.

The incident has reignited concerns about the safety of ride-hailing drivers and foreign nationals working in South Africa, with calls for justice and improved protection measures.

Police said further updates would be provided as the investigation progresses.
