Terrorists gun down Army General in Abuja, kidnap wife
Major General Hassan Ahmed, a senior officer of the Nigerian Army, has reportedly been killed by terrorists in the Abaji area of Abuja.
Findings revealed that the attackers also kidnapped the senior officer’s wife.
The incident occurred while the couple were returning from Okene in Kogi State.
Sources said the assailants opened fire on the vehicle conveying the couple, killing the senior officer on the spot, while the driver reportedly survived after pretending to be dead. The gunmen allegedly took the officer’s wife away after the attack.
Before his death, Major General Hassan Ahmed served as a director at the Army Headquarters following his appointment by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya. He also previously held the position of Provost Marshal of the Nigerian Army.
The incident has further heightened growing security concerns across Nigeria, especially amid the rising cases of kidnappings and armed attacks.
