I know the above clause will sound awkward and very strange to the readers, particularly when an African like me utter it; the facts here is that no matter the degree of the protest, the whites will still look and act superior.
Quite a large number of people spoke to me demanding that I should write something against racism. It isn’t that I don’t want to write about it but the questions I need to have an answer for is how can I condemn it with words? – which I think is not only inappropriate but status quo disruption, the very thing we keep on applauding day by day with our actions.
Indeed white is superior hence we can’t appreciate what the Almighty endowed upon us – we reason to that by our attitudes towards it; most of us have nothing doing apart from abusing our natural colour.
Forgive me if I sound abusive to you but all am saying is the facts, just think about it. An uncountable number of Africans including men and women bleach their African pride away to suit our myopic definition of beauty.
We do say black is beautiful, but all we choose is white/fair as a measure of beauty, anything otherwise relating to our pride we look down upon it. Hmmm!!!
Isn’t it so astonishing that now thousands of people carrying placards of various inscription condemning the white people’s acts are the same people who applaud the white as superior; I agree with them that black lives matters as inscribed by the protesters, but what did you do as a black to back that, build up and maintain your dignity?
The killing of George Floyd wasn’t the first but we pray that it will be the last (Ameen). But in my opinion, I don’t think racism will come to an end so far as we will continue to look down upon our nature and actions.
I mean, black people have reached whatever kind of ladder the white men think have reached; I don’t want to talk about civilization because that began in Africa. That means the white men need to learn to follow our footsteps not us, but our negligence reached to the extent that some of us will not even patronize African made products.
We have been independence rather than independent; we are not uncivilized but civilized; we have all that it takes to control our nations but still not jealous of ourselves.
Robert Mugabe had spoken everything about racism, and I consider his words very sacrosanct, he said and I quote: “Racism will never end as long as white cars are still using black tyres. Racism will never end if people still wear white clothes for weddings and black clothes for funerals. Racism will never end as long as people who don’t pay their bills are blacklisted not whitelisted”.
He continued, “Racism will never end if people still use black to symbolise bad luck and white for peace”.
Therefore, if the aforementioned assertions are exactly correct, then the clause “white is superior” remain unchanged, we as black abandoned our pride by adapting the western’s, considering it as the best.
One of the biggest challenges is that black people are innocent of the facts that “cultural imperialism” is a factor adding fuel to racism; western cultures dominate ours to the extent that we are no longer practising our societal norms and values talk less of showcasing it to them.
Culture is the totality of people’s way of life, it includes everything right from the way you eat, dress, associate, communicate, behave, educate and develop yourself, in fact, culture means everything; we neglect African cultures and traditions, we ourselves aren’t appreciating our cultures, then who will appreciate it?
One funny thing is that, no matter how civilized, educated and knowledgeable you are, if you can’t speak the Western language, then you are no more a civilized and educated, some people will even consider you as a second class human being and nobody will even look at you or listen to you no matter the kind of success you may bring.
We gave them all the pride by imitating their way of life, taking their languages the best and everything else, then they must feel and act superior!!!
White is superior and that’s not going to change. Africans, especially the leaders, have spoiled the dignity of Africa, black people in particular by squandering of their nations’ wealth and keep in the western world, one stupid point is a wealthy African man will never invest in Africa; which through you all these European countries developed.
We ourselves, keep on developing the western world while we are still underdeveloped.
I doubt the behaviours of some Africans, for not patronizing African locally made products; how can we develop? Seeing an African marrying American, Dutch among others. How many times did you see an American marrying a Nigerian or a Ghanian lady? The answer is no and even if it is yes, it happens very rare.
Undoubtedly, white is superior and it will keep on being superior so far as we continue to disown our cultural norms and value; keep on being strong the more we continue to patronize and value their products ahead of ours; white will keep on being superior as we continue to bleach our skin to like them.
Black lives in some countries around the world are often considered as lives of slavery and terrorism, while such beliefs come up from the way Africans or just, rises of regional division, unsound minds in depending the names of their originality, and even using power to crippled ourselves as black people.
Henceforth, white people in large strives to make efforts and initiate ideas to bring unity and various types of achievements.
Over decades, the lives of dark skin people have been under the rules of the whites, we might call this a superior, but by considering the largely grown of black nations in socioeconomic and political developments.
At least, some interior changes are supposed to be displayed. Yet, dark-skinned people aren’t applying their own culture and tribal ideas to rule a nation.
Our skin, our pride. The more we keep on disowning our pride, the more we become less important in the world, let’s voice and acts together to restore Africans image.
