Residents at Calabar Street in Makurdi, Benue State were astonished after waking up on Sunday morning to find a female corpse inside drainage by the roadside.
The Benue state Police Spokesperson, Catherine Anene said the incident has been confirmed and the family of the corpse have been traced.
“A lifeless body of a lady was found in drainage at Calabar street on Sunday, 11/10/2020 at about 7 am. The family was traced and they confirmed the corpse to be Angbiandoo Gbavaan who left the house the previous night and never returned,” she said.
Anene hinted that the corpse has been deposited at Bishop Murray Morgue for an autopsy to unravel the mystery behind her death, adding that the police has commenced a further investigation on the matter.
